Student Services

Student Services at the University of Great Falls are designed to meet the many needs of students during their academic career. Active outreach aims at assisting students in fulfilling their personal and career goals while attending the University of Great Falls. Career Services

Career Services provides a wide range of resources to UGF students as they work toward their personal and professional goals. Career assessment and career counseling are available on an individual basis. The Career Library houses an extensive collection of career assessment tools, career planning, and educational opportunities.

Career Services also offers co-operative education opportunities, information on part-time and on and off campus jobs, and volunteer positions available to interested students. For information about Career Services call 791-5216.

Click here for the part-time on and off campus jobs listing.

Cooperative Education Program
The cooperative education program enables junior and senior students to enhance their academic learning through work experience related to their majors. Combining classroom theory with on-the-job experience provides a unique opportunity for students to test their career choices in the work world while earning academic credit. Students work with a faculty supervisor and the employer to develop a learning agreement. Some cooperative education experiences are paid; some are volunteer positions.

Career Planning
Career Planning focuses on the importance of choosing and preparing for an appropriate career. Career counselors help students explore their interests, personalities and abilities in relation to occupations. Information, workshops and individual counseling are available on interviewing, resume writing, cover letters, job hunting and graduate schools. The Career Library also assists students in career planning and in bridging the gap between university and employment.

Career Library
Career Services maintains placement files for all graduates and assists both students and alumni in obtaining full or part time employment. The Career Library maintains a listing of full or part time jobs along with recruiting information and job-hunting books and videotapes and results of a graduate follow-up survey.

Student Health Services

Welcome to the University of Great Falls/MSU Bozeman College of Nursing Student Health Services. Under the supervision of UGF Student Services and the MSU Bozeman College of Nursing the health center offers limited primary
care - diagnostic procedures and treatment of common illnesses; preventive health care; minor musculoskeletal injuries; and immunizations. The
center will be staffed by an advanced practice registered nurse/family practitioner with prescriptive authority. Our primary funding comes from you through a semester heath fee. There is no charge for offi ce visits but there will be a charge for services such as lab tests, vaccines and pharmacy. The health center will not provide third party billing services.

Services

As an ambulatory health care facility on campus, we encourage patients to schedule an appointment to access care quickly and easily. Walk-ins will be accommodated. Visits are anticipated to take approximately 15 minutes.

Unless your condition is acute, please call in advance for an appointment: 791-5308 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday - Friday. If you must cancel or reschedule, call as soon as possible. Please arrive about 15 minutes before your appointment time. Present your ID card at the reception desk.

Referrals outside the Health Center, emergency or otherwise, may be covered under an individual medical insurance plan. It is up to the individual to be responsible for any expenses incurred. For any after hours care or referral you may need to consult with
your primary care physician for pre-authorization to confirm your insurance coverage.

The Student Health Service is not an emergency room. True emergencies - such as poisoning, severe injuries,
heart attacks or severe breathing problems - should be evaluated and treated at the Benefi s Health Care
emergency room, 455-5200. Staffed 24 hours a day, the hospital is located at 1101 26th Street South, about
three blocks east of the UGF campus. You will also find a list of several local walk-in clinics in the directory section of the Student Handbook at www.ugf.edu/students/student_services.aspx

Note: Many insurance companies will not pay for treatment at the Emergency Room for nonemergency problems, and a visit to the Emergency Room will usually be expensive.

Eligibility

University of Great Falls and MSU Bozeman College of Nursing students who are currently registered and faculty and staff are eligible for services. Students who have paid the health fee may use the clinic from the first day of the semester through the last week of classes. Those who have not paid the semester fee are expected to prepay a reasonable per visit fee.
