Lady Argos Win 3rd & 4th Straight In Tucson
Tucson, AZ – After closing out yesterday’s action with back-to-back wins, the University of Great Falls softball team kept the momentum rolling as they swept both games today, winning 5-3 over Calumet College of St. Joseph (IN) and 14-10 in a barnburner against Purdue University-North Central (IN) on a bright and sunny day at Lincoln Park. With the wins, the Lady Argos improve to 7-5 on the young season. More>

Lady Argos Softball Evens Record At 5-5
Tucson, AZ – After two straight days of washouts, the University of Great Falls softball team returned to action today going 2-1 at the 2010 Tucson Invitational, dropping their early contest 6-0 to #14 Madonna University (MI) before rebounding with an 8-2 win over Mount Marty College (SD) and a 14-4 win over Northwestern College (IA) in five innings. Jones & Harris Represent UGF On All-Frontier Teams
Whitefish, MT – Sophomore basketball players L.J. Jones (Anaheim, CA) and Kevin Harris (Houston, TX) were honored today as they were selected to the 2009-2010 All-Frontier Conference Second Team as announced by conference commissioner Kent Paulson. The All-Conference Team is determined by a vote from the league’s eight head coaches. More>

UGF Softball Wins 3, Drops 4 In Opening Days Of Season
Tucson, AZ – The University of Great Falls softball team officially got their season underway this past Friday competing in the 2010 Tucson Invitational held at Lincoln Park. Over the first three days of their season thus far, the Lady Argos are sporting a 3-4 record with two wins over Trinity International (15-7 on Friday, 7-3 on Saturday) and one against Hope International (11-0 today). The team will play a total of 19 games during their stay in southeastern Arizona. More>

Argo Grapplers Take 3rd At Nationals
Oklahoma City, OK – The University of Great Falls wrestling team which has been ranked in the top six in the country all season long concluded its 2009-2010 campaign today by finishing third overall at the 53rd Annual NAIA Wrestling National Championships held at Abe Lemons Arena on the campus of Oklahoma City University. The third place team finish is the highest in the history of the program which saw the Argos place six All-Americans including freshman Myles Mazurkiewicz (Havre, MT) and junior Byron Kuylen (Sidney, MT) who came in as runners-up at 133 pounds and 149 pounds, respectively. Mazurkiewicz, Kuylen Advance To National Finals
Oklahoma City, OK – True freshman Myles Mazurkiewicz (Havre, MT) and junior Byron Kuylen (Sidney, MT) of the University of Great Falls wrestling team each won two matches today, advancing to the championship finals of their respective weight classes at the 53rd Annual NAIA Wrestling National Championships at Abe Lemons Arena. Mazurkiewicz advances to tomorrow night’s final in the 133-pound weight class and will face Tommy Pretty of Campbellsville University (KY) while Kuylen squares off against Jeffrey Pelton of Notre Dame College (OH) in the 149-pound finale. Both Mazurkiewicz and Kuylen will be looking to join former Argo Michael Kummer who, at the moment, is the program’s only individual national champion, winning the 197-pound weight class in 2008. Argos Impress On Day 1 Of Wrestling Nationals
Oklahoma City, OK – The University of Great Falls looked impressive on the opening day of the 53rd Annual NAIA Wrestling National Championships at Abe Lemons Arena on the campus of Oklahoma City University, winning eight of their 11 first round matches and racking up 28 team points thus far. The Argos point total is good for fifth heading into the final two days of the tournament. At current, Notre Dame College (OH) leads the pack with 44 points followed by Southern Oregon University (38 points), Missouri Valley University (32 points) and McKendree University (IL) (31 points) to round out the top five. Argos' Season Ends At Westminster
Salt Lake City, UT – The University of Great Falls men’s basketball team saw its 2009-2010 season come to an end Tuesday as they dropped a 78-55 decision to #1-seeded Westminster College in the opening round of the Frontier Conference Tournament at Behnken Fieldhouse. The Griffins, ranked #4 in the latest NAIA national poll, improved to 24-5 on the season by winning their 11th straight game. The Argos fall to 7-22 and are still searching for two milestones: the program’s first win in the Frontier Conference Tournament and the program’s first win over Westminster who moved to 25-0 all-time against UGF.
