Great Falls, Montana, is Montana’s 3rd largest city with a population of 56,690. Located in north central Montana, in the heart of Russell Country, Great Falls is a beautiful prairie city within sight of the Rocky Mountains.
The University of Great Falls is conveniently located at 1301 20th Street South, easily reached by 10th Avenue, the city’s major street. The forty-five acre campus consists of eleven buildings, including a residence hall, and the University manages a 60-unit apartment complex for upper level and married students only two blocks away.

Recreational opportunities abound in Big Sky Country. The Rocky Mountains to the west or the Little Belts to the east offer wonderful views from town and invite folks to come outdoors for an adventure. Hiking, whitewater rafting, water skiing, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, hunting, or snow skiing provide refreshment after class and on the weekends.
Showdown Ski Area, atop King’s Hill in Neihart, boasts short lift lines taking downhill lovers to thirty-four exciting runs for skiers of all levels. The King’s Hill area also supplies cross country skiing and more than 200 miles of snowmobiling adventure during the winter season and plenty of hiking, camping and fishing during the warm season.
The Missouri River flows right through Great Falls and offers fishing and boating recreation, and the River’s Edge Trail follows the river for hikers, bikers and skaters looking to release energy after a day of study.
