Adopt-A-Journal
The University of Great Falls Library actively seeks gifts to help provide additional materials and services that might otherwise not be available to users. Gifts to the UGF Library benefits students, faculty, and others throughout the regions who use the Library's resources on site and through Interlibrary Loan.
The Library has instituted the Adopt-A-Journal program in order to enhance the vital information resources that support teaching on campus. The rising cost of subscriptions for journals has limited the purchase of new journal titles and has caused the cancellation of some subscriptions. Over a period of time, these cancellations can have an adverse effect on the research being conducted in the Library by students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
The Library encourages financial support from individuals and businesses who are interested in supporting journal subscriptions. Participation in the program can be in one of two ways:
Donate a journal to which you already subscribe to the Adopt-A-Journal program through a commitment to supply all issues for at least two years.
Donate the institutional cost to subscribe to a specific journal title for a two-year period;
For those interested in supporting specific journal subscriptions, the Library can provide a list of titles in a given field.
For more information on the Adopt-A-Journal Program, contact Theodore Dollarhide, 406-791-5293.
Collection Endowment Fund
The University Library Collection Endowment Fund provides a stable source of moneys to support and enhance the collections at the Library. Revenue generated by the Collection Fund is used to acquire books, journals subscriptions, audio-visual materials and electronic database subscriptions.
Building Endowment Fund
The University Library Building Endowment Fund provides funding to remodel, upgrade and expand the Library Building and its facilities. Revenue from the Building Fund is used to purchase shelving for materials, replace obsolete computers and other equipment, install network wiring, and other upgrades to keep the building functional and comfortable in the twenty-first century.

Donor Recognition Path
The University of Great Falls Library is asking for $100 donations to be used in purchasing the furnishings necessary to make the UGF Library an inviting place for UGF Students to go and study.
In return for your $100 donation we will place a brick, with your name and year of graduation from UGF (CGF), or any two-line message in the Donor Recognition Path.
The Donor Recognition Path is located in the center aisle of the Jorgensen Addition and will be a constant reminder of your generosity, kindness and support of the University's academic mission of Character, Competence, and Commitment.
Bricks will be purchased once a year and installed in the spring.
For more information, contact Theodore Dollarhide, 406-791-5293.
The Donor Recognition Path was dedicated on April 17, 2000. Please come and view this wonderful acknowledgement to the Library's supporters.
Classroom & Group Study Rooms
The students at UGF are looking for quiet places to study together. When the Jorgensen Family Addition was added to the UGF Library in 1999, three group study rooms were included in this space. These rooms have been very popular with the student body and there is now a need for more study rooms.
Your generous contributions will enable us to construct more Group Study Rooms in the Jorgensen Addition.
For a donation of $25,000, UGF will dedicate one of the four new Study Rooms to you and/or your family.
For those more philanthropically inclined, UGF will dedicate the new library interactive classroom to you and/or your family for a generous gift of $50,000. This room will be equipped with computer and Internet access for presenters and students, computer terminals at each work station, multiple white boards, overhead screens, and much more.
In these times of fast paced, noise and confusion, quiet places to study, read, and reflect are at a premium. Your generous contributions to the UGF Study Room Campaign will bring a few minutes of peace and solitude to the UGF students who use these rooms.
For more information on group study rooms, the interactive classroom or other naming opportunities, please contact Theodore Dollarhide , 406-791-5293.
Jorgensen Family Addition
The Jorgensen Addition is dedicated to the students of the University of Great Falls and was made possible, in part, by a generous donation from long time resident and distinguished member of the community, Frances J. Jorgensen.
Mrs. Jorgensen's dedication to quality higher education has been displayed throughout the years in the form of scholarships and now her generosity has helped to make the 10,000 square foot addition possible.
On behalf of future UGF Students, we thank Mrs. Jorgensen for her support.
FIRST INTERSTATE BANK is a multi-state, $3.3 billion banking organization. First Interstate has evolved since 1968 from a single bank in Sheridan, Wyoming to operating 56 branches and over 120 ATMs in Montana and Wyoming.
In 1984, the company purchased a franchise agreement with First Interstate Bancorp to use the First Interstate Bank name and logo. In 1996, when First Interstate Bancorp of California merged with another banking institution, our bank negotiated to retain the First Interstate name. We now serve 30 communities across Montana and Wyoming.
Thanks to a generous donation from First Interstate Bank, the University of Great Falls Library was able to purchase an integrated automated library system. The Library staff carefully evaluated several systems and chose the Unicorn system from the SIRSI Corporation of Huntsville, Alabama. The catalog was implemented during Fall Semester 1998.
