Jim Hall, UGF Athletic Director
College: Northwest Missouri State University, M.S. Education: Health & Physical Education; Grinnell College: B.A.: History
Seasons at UGF: 1st Season as UGF Athletic Director Jim Hall enters his first season as the Athletic Director at the University of Great Falls. He began his duties in August 2007. Hall comes to the University of Great Falls from Fresno Pacific University where he has been the women’s basketball coach since the 2005-2006 seasons. He left on March 1, 2007 because he wanted to pursue other administrative options including becoming an athletic director. Before his job at FPU, Jim guided the women’s basketball teams at Simpson University in Redding, California and the University of Minnesota-Morris for three seasons. He has turned around some floundering programs into national champions. The women’s basketball team at Simpson University never had a winning season before Hall took over the program. Under his leadership, Hall experienced their first winning season, earned a NAIA post-season berth, and won three consecutive National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) II West Region Championships while compiling a 54-40 record. His 2002 team took home the NCCAA Division II Final Four National Championship. He was named the NCAAA II West Regional Coach of the Year. In 2003, he took over the women’s team at the University of Minnesota-Morris (UMM), a NCAA Division II school that had gone winless in the two previous seasons (0-56). The team improved to 13-14 in Hall’s second season in 2004 and 10-15 in 2005. This will be his first time as an athletic director but he has broad administrative background including serving as Title IX compliance offer in an athletic department and served as the Athletic Facilities Coordinator at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jim is a native of Bedford, Indiana and graduated form Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in History. He was also a member of the Grinnell College basketball team where his team led in scoring in both his junior and senior seasons. In 1997, he attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri where he completed a master of science in education (health and physical education).
