Gary Ehnes, Head Softball Coach College: University of Great Falls
Seasons at UGF: 2nd Season as the Women's Head Softball Coach Gary Ehnes begins his second season as the head women's softball coach for the University of Great Falls. He grew up in Great Falls and attended and graduated from Great Falls High School. While in high school, he played baseball fro the Great Falls Electrics where he was the batting champion and record holder of having a batting average over .400 during 1970-1971. Gary has been a part of the softball community in Great Falls for over 20 years. He has coached softball at both Great Falls High and C.M. Russell High from 1992-2006. Between ASA and high school, he has over 200 wins, 2 state championships and one regional championship. Ehnes is the first and only head coach of the University of Great Falls softball team and plans to build a program of significance. In the team's first year, they went 6-16 against Division I an Division II teams and played competitive ball against some nationally ranked teams. Seasons at UGF: 2nd Season as an Assistant Coach for women's softball Mike Myers begins his second season as an assistant for the University of Great Falls softball team. He is a 1970 graduate of Great Falls Central Catholic High School in Great Falls, MT. He has been involved with coaching baseball and softball for the past twenty years in the surrounding community. Mike coached ASA championships at both the state and regional levels in women’s 18-and under fast pitch softball. He helps lead the Lady Argo Softball in computer technology for our hitters and pitchers. Mike Ferradas, Assistant Softball Coach
Seasons at UGF: 1st Season as an Assistant Coach for women's softball Mike Ferradas begins his first season as an assistant for the University of Great Falls softball team. He grew up in Miami, Florida and attended and graduated from American Senior High School in Miami. After high school in 1984, he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers but didn’t sign with them. He attended Miami-Dade Community College for two years on a baseball scholarship. Then in 1986, he was drafted and signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and played three seasons in the minor leagues for them including a stop with the Great Falls Dodgers. Since 1996, he has coached Legion baseball in Great Falls and became the head coach of both the Great Falls Electrics and Great Falls Stallions. He is currently the head coach of the Great Falls Stallions Legion baseball team. He volunteers with Little League baseball in Great Falls and currently has two children, Taylor 18 and Nikki 14. Seasons at UGF: 2nd Season as the Women's Softball Pitching Coach Joey Ehnes begins her second season as an assistant women's softball coach for the University of Great Falls. She grew up in Great Falls and attended college at Montana State University – Billings. While in college, she played softball for the Lady Jackets Division II softball team where she was the 2005 First Team – Pitcher of the Year for the PacWest Conference, 2004 and 2005 First Team PacWest Conference, 2002 and 2003 Second Team PacWest Conference, 2005 Second Team All-West Region – Pitcher, 2004 Second Team West Region Utility Player, member of the 2005 West Region All-Tournament Team and she had many career pitching and hitting records. Joey was also named MSU-Billings' Female Athlete of the Year and was the Little Sullivan Award winner in 2005. Seasons at UGF: 1st Season as a Graduate Assistant for women's softball
Marsi Wadsworth begins her first season as a graduate assistant for the University of Great Falls softball team. She grew up in Great Falls and attended and graduated from Great Falls High School. While in high school, Marsi played softball and basketball and was named to the Class AA All-State Softball team. “Marsi was one of the most tenacious competitors to come through the Great Falls High softball program,” said UGF softball coach Gary Ehnes. After high school, Marsi attended the University of North Dakota on a softball scholarship for two years. She got offered a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to nanny in Connecticut for clothing designer, Tommy Hilfiger. She worked for the Hilfiger family for six years while she attended the University of Connecticut where she graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree. Marsi returned in June 2007 to Great Falls to be closer to her family. Fun Fact: Some of her interests include softball, basketball, snowboarding, camping and hiking, and hanging out with friends and family. |
