Embry-Riddle wins rain-filled match with UGF

GREAT FALLS, MT – (Sunday, September 23, 2007) – The Lady Argos soccer team returned home from Saturday’s narrow 2-1 loss to nationally ranked Carroll College in Helena ready to challenge the Lady Eagles of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Sunday morning in a rainy day at the Siebel Soccer Park in Great Falls.

UGF battled the Lady Eagles all the way to the end but the score at halftime was 3-1 in favor of Embry Riddle. UGF was able to add another goal in the second half. Junior Sarah Merhar scored the first goal for the Lady Argos and sophomore Jessica Selmer was able to kick in the only goal scored by either team in the second half.

Lady Argos played well in loss to nationally ranked Carroll College

HELENA, MT – (Saturday, September 22, 2007) – The Lady Argos soccer team fought very hard on Saturday afternoon in Nelson Stadium on the campus of Carroll College for their first conference win but it wasn’t to be as UGF took a 1-0 halftime lead but Carroll managed to score two goals in the second half to pick up their 11th straight win of the season.

 

The Lady Saints controlled the ball for much of the first half but they were down 1-0 at the half. UGF’s Tiffany Woodard found the back of the net for the Lady Argos with 26:04 left in the first half. The goal was only the first of two shots on goal that Great Falls would attempt against the Saints all afternoon. Carroll had plenty of chances to score in the first half having nine chances to score.

 

In the second half, Carroll attacked UGF’s defense shot after shot. Carroll’s Hannah Young tied the match at 1-1 at the 48 minute mark. Young scored again at the 60 minute mark to give the Lady Saints a 2-1 lead for good. After that, Carroll out-shot the Lady Argos 26-4.

Lady Argos need only one goal to get the victory over Dakota Wesleyan

MITCHELL, SD – (Saturday, September 15, 2007) – The Lady Argos soccer team won their second game of the season (2-6) as they only needed one goal by Jessica Selmer to seal the victory over the Dakota Wesleyan Lady Tigers at Cadwell Park on Saturday afternoon. The goal by Jessica Selmer was assisted by Tiffany Woodard.
