2007-08 Men's and Women's Golf Season Outlook

The University of Great Falls men's and women's golf teams enter their fourth season of competition with a bright future.

The men will be anchored by sophomore Chris Richter and senior Phil Marra. The freshman class adds five new faces to the program including Jeff LePard and Joseph Furr from Great Falls, Montana, Ryan Kovach from Malta, MT, Shay Thompson from Corvallis, MT and Josh Wittman from Lewiston, ID. The team is rounded out by junior Lance Wilson and sophomore Shane McMenamy. "There will be much more competition for spots this season and our team will be improved from last year," said UGF coach Steve Silsby.

The women should be a much improved team from last season. The Lady Argos return all four golfers from last year's team plus they added two new faces. Seniors Jennifer Johnson and Karly Eyre along with junior Emily Pfeifer and sophomore Kirstin Thompson all played a full season last year so the experience should help in the Frontier Conference. Freshman Kaelynn Olsen and Chelsea Serrano-Aksland will provide depth and more competition in practice.
