Biographical Information |
Dr. Swanson was raised and educated in California. After graduate school, she completed a clinical practice residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. At the same time, she served as an adjunct instructor for the Bachelor of Science Nursing Program at Thomas Jefferson University's College of Allied Health Sciences. In 1996, she moved to Montana. For the next six years, she relished living in Browning and East Glacier, at the foot of the "Backbone of the World" (aka the Rocky Mountain Front), while working in a variety of clinical and administrative capacities at the Blackfeet Community Hospital. Recalling how much she enjoyed teaching while in Philadelphia, Dr. Swanson made a career change in 2003, joining the faculty of the University of Great Falls. Her regular course roster includes Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology. When not working, she enjoys riding and raising Lusitano horses, hiking, and canoeing.
Areas of Specialization |
Dr. Swanson specializes in clinical pharmacology, with a special interest in medical ethics and healthcare resource allocation. During graduate school and clinical residency training she designed and conducted two original research projects and published letters and articles in several pharmacology journals and hospital journals.
