I grew up in Chicago and later moved to the far south suburbs. I participated in high school sports as a senior and I was lucky to make honorable mention all-state in football. I participated in some sports in college, but dropped out of college sports during my junior year. I graduated from Illinois State and went on to the University of Chicago where I received an M.A. During that time I was a middle school math and science teacher. I then spent 14 months working with the Santee Sioux in Nebraska. Elementary school teaching was my next endeavor followed by 8 years as a high school math teacher. I have also been a curriculum director for a large school system in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I spent 18 years in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and received a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa before moving into college teaching. I have been in a University position for the past 15 years. I am an amateur carpenter and electrician and I love great automobiles. I love Montana and UGF!
