Biographical Information |
In 1978, I was hired as the Learning Center Director with the task of establishing a Learning Center on campus. As Director, I taught six different study skills workshops each semester, tutored students in a variety of courses, developed learning strategies for individual students, and referred students to appropriate counseling assistance.
While I was Director of the Learning Center, I also taught part-time in the English Department, teaching composition and literature courses. In 1984, I was offered a full-time teaching position in the English Department where I have remained ever since. In addition to my master's degreee in English, I have earned over 60 semester hours toward a Ph.D. in 19th and 20th century literature at Washington State University.
Awards that I have received include the Burlington Northern Outstanding Teaching Award, two Outstanding Faculty Awards from A.S.U.G.F., and the Cultural Diversity Award.
