Biographical Information

I have an M. A. degree, a Ph. D. degree, and a note from my mother. I grew up in a Catholic family in Cleveland, Ohio-the oldest of nine kids. When I was in the eighth grade, my mom had the ninth kid-for my dad, it was more than hobby. My biggest problem since coming to Montana in 1991 is that women keep mistaking me for Brad Pitt. I am a fitness fanatic, a Toastmaster, and the co-owner of two black & white Alaskan Huskies trained by Doug Swingley. I was a finalist in Toastmaster International's World Championship in Public Speaking in 2001 and 2004. I was engaged to Janet Carlson for 10 years. We've been happily married now for five years, which isn't bad out of 10. We've been happily married because we go out to a nice restaurant one night a week. Soft music, candlelight, a little wine. Janet goes on Friday nights and Rich goes on Saturday nights. I am a former marathon runner. I completed the Boston Marathon nine times. I ran 76 marathons and 20 ultra marathons before my running career ended with a hip replacement. I teach communication classes at UGF and I am committed to enhancing your communication and leadership abilities, Kemo Sabe.
