"Going to school at the University of Great Falls is awesome because you are close to home and close to familiar things, and at the same time, you are experiencing things that are new and unfamiliar. You are surrounded by people from all over the globe and creating new friendships and bonds, while still being in Great Falls."

I have made a lot of friends and have learned so much by coming to the University of Great Falls. The professors here are very bright and are always willing to help out in any way they can.

I have had good leaders to follow and hope that I am leading those looking up to me. I have learned a lot and hope to have a better future because of my experience at the University of Great Falls."

ERICA CONGELLIERE
Junior – Business Administration
Ocean View High School 2008 – Huntington Beach, CA

"Coming from a large high school in a big city in California, I was looking for a college experience that was different from anything I could receive at home. I wanted something new and exciting. The University of Great Falls was exactly what I wanted. The small class sizes and the familiarity with everyone on campus is amazing. The friends and experiences I’ve made at the University of Great Falls reassures me that this was the right decision for me. Being an out-of-state student, the University has shown me what Montana has to offer. I have learned a lot about myself outside of the classroom, as well as in it."

“The University of Great Falls isn’t your average college; it helps you become a better person on top of helping you with an education. My experience at the University has been great. I have had some of the best times in my life while going to school here. The people, the atmosphere, and the challenges have all been something that has made me a stronger and better person. People who are either too afraid of change or unwilling to give it a try do not know what they will be missing out on.”

JEFF TRAFELET

Senior – Secondary Education & Broadfield Science

Valier High School 2005

“The University of Great Falls has a small, community atmosphere, and caring people. I like feeling like I know everyone on campus, at least enough to say hello and have a conversation. Everyone here is inviting and caring. Students should get involved in everything! The more you do the more fun you will have. Sitting in your room won’t get you anywhere, but the contrary will offer great times and fun stories. There are also excellent opportunities. For example, sports and professor contacts afforded me the opportunity to network in many directions. I also commend the professors very highly for their effort to help students. They offer the most support possible and have helped me to achieve many goals that were not otherwise possible.

During my time at the University, I have seen this school transform itself. When I came, things were very different. This place has really come into its own and begun to find an identity that sets itself apart. The direction we are going has made me proud to see where the University of Great Falls will be in the future.”

MIGUEL MENDEZ
Sophomore – Business Administration
Bonners Ferry High School 2009 – Bonners Ferry, ID

"I came to the University of Great Falls because of the business program and to play soccer. The things I like most about the University of Great Falls is the small school size and that you get a lot of one on one professor time. I am having a great time here; all the students are really friendly.

If you come to the University, you will receive a quality education. You will also meet people from all types of cultures and backgrounds. My biggest surprise has been how much the University has grown. There has already been a dramatic increase in students since my freshman year."

“I was looking for a college experience close to home and the University of Great Falls offered the perfect opportunity and fit. The small class sizes create an easy learning environment and there are so many ways to get involved. There really is something for everyone. If you don’t live on campus, the University publicizes and makes sure that all the students know about the opportunities and activities, so you won’t miss out on any of the fun!”

“The University of Great Falls has a personal feel. You get the freedom of college with the care of high school. The professors not only care about how you’re doing in school, but in life as well. They want you to succeed and reach your greatest potential.”

SHAYNA VINSON
Freshman — Elementary Education
Great Falls High School 2010

“My experience at the University of Great Falls has been great! My favorite thing is the size of the classes and the people here. Everyone here is willing to help one another, we're like a family. I love the Corps of Discovery! It provides so many opportunities to get involved and to meet a ton of new people. You learn a lot about who you are and what morals you have. At the University, you build relationships that will last a life time!

To me, uncommon courage means to always help others in need, to step up and be a leader, to never give up on anything, and to always show respect for yourself and others.”

ASHLEY FERGUSON
Freshman – Undecided
Clovis West High School 2010 – Fresno, CA

"The main reason I came to the University of Great Falls was to play volleyball. So far I have really liked it here, a lot. Everyone is so nice and welcoming and they make you feel right at home. Being from California and so far away from home, it is nice to have such close friends who have become my family away from home.
To me, uncommon courage is to be a leader, stand out, and be original."
