GREAT FALLS, Mont., April 23, 2009 —University of Great Falls wrestling coach Caleb Schaeffer has announced the signing of three athletes to NAIA Letters of Intent for the upcoming 2009-2010 season.
Myles Mazurkiewicz is a 133 lb. wrestler from Havre High School in Havre, Montana. The future Argo was a two-time state finalist and a two-time state champion for the Blue Ponies. Myles has a career high school record of 152-16. Mazurkiewicz hopes to compete at 133 lbs. for the Argos. More>

GREAT FALLS, MT, April 6, 2009 — The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA)/NAIA has announced the 2008-09 NWCA/NAIA All-Academic Team and individual award winners. The announcement includes the All-Academic Team made up of 36 individual wrestlers from within the NAIA.
Heading the Team GPA Ranking for the second year in a row was the University of Great Falls wrestling program. This year’s #1 national ranking marks the second consecutive time the program has reached the top position. The back to back #1 rankings follow a steady climb up the rankings from 6th in 2006 and 4th in 2007. The NWCA only ranks the top 10 teams in each division annually. More>

PRESCOTT, AZ – January 17, 2009 – The #3 University of Great Falls wrestling team defeated three out of their four opponents on Saturday at the 2009 Mile High Duals hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.
In their opening round against #11 Cal Baptist, the Argos easily defeated the Lancers 35-13 behind the efforts of three Argos who earned pins including Ross Mosher (SO, Augusta, MT, 165 lbs.), Brendon DeCock (JR, Huntley, MT, 174 lbs.) and heavyweight Brad Fraser (SR, Spokane, WA). CEDAR RAPIDS, IA– January 11, 2009 – The University of Great Falls wrestling team won three of their five duals against nationally ranked opponents for seventh place at the prestigious two-day NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals this weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
In the preliminary round, the #3 Argos handled #13 Northwestern (IA) College 40-3. Great Falls added points right away due to two forfeits by their opponents. DICKINSON, ND – January 3, 2009 –The University of Great Falls wrestling team took their #3 NAIA national ranking and traveled to Dickinson, North Dakota for Saturday's Blue Hawk Classic wrestling tournament hosted by NAIA #4 Dickinson State University. However, the squad was not at full strength as several of the lineups regulars were left at home to prepare for the upcoming National Duals held next week.
