Argonaut Wrestling Releases Two Camp Dates
The University of Great Falls Head Wrestling Coach Caleb Scheaffer announced the dates of two wretling camps. To get information about the camps simply click on the camp name you are interested in. The camps are the 2012 MT-USAW Western Regional Junior Duals and the 2012 UGF Wrestling Camp. Scheaffer also announced that 2-Time National Champion Anthony Varnell will be a camp instructor.

NAIA Winter Sports Scholar-Athletes Announced
Great Falls, MT – The NAIA has announced the recipients of the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award for this year’s winter sports. The University of Great Falls had seven student-athletes named to this honor for men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling. The UGF wrestling squad had three honorees while men’s and women’s basketball each had two. More>

Two Wrestlers Crowned National Champions; Team Takes Fourth
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – With four wrestlers in the finals of the 2011 NAIA Wrestling National Championship, it was guaranteed that the University of Great Falls squad would take home at least one title with the finalists in the 165 pound weight class being Argos Ross Mosher and Noah Hatton. At the conclusion of today’s final matches, Great Falls walked away with two National Champions in Anthony Varnell (141) and Ross Mosher. More>

Argo Wrestlers Move Up to Fifth Heading into Last Day
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The University of Great Falls wrestling team moved into fifth place at the conclusion of the second day of the NAIA National Championships at the U.S. Cellular Center. The team was able to make the big jump thanks in part to the excellent performances during day two. All four wrestlers still alive in the championship brackets were victorious and advanced to the finals tomorrow. More>

Great Falls Wrestlers Hold Ninth Place After Day One
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The University of Great Falls wrestling team won five of its first 12 matches at the 2011 NAIA Wrestling National Championships. The 54th annual event held at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids saw the Argos off to a slow start before 141 pounders Anthony Varnell and Myles Mazurkiewicz picked up wins for the squad. Mazurkiewicz’s win came by a 10-0 major decision. More>

Prescott, Ariz. – The University of Great Falls wrestling team had five wrestlers in Championship matches but was unable to capture the regional title and ended the day in third place with 114.5 points. Great Falls, Mont. – The University of Great Falls wrestling squad pulled off another dual victory over their Treasure State rival Montana State University-Northern, 19-12, tonight at the McLaughlin Center. Although it was a close dual the entire night, the Argos never trailed and won six of ten weight classes. More>

UGF Wrestlers Take Down Northwest; Three Qualify at Jimmie Open
Great Falls, Mont. – The University of Great Falls wrestling team split up its squad for competitions on Saturday. Most of the team that had already qualified for the national tournament stayed at home to wrestle Northwest College of Powell, Wyo. The team, that featured number one ranked wrestlers Ross Mosher and Michael French, defeated the Trappers handily 29-10. More>

Argo Grapplers Split Against NCAA Division Foes; Beat Embry-Riddle
Prescott, Ariz. – The University of Great Falls wrestling team won its first dual over New Mexico Highlands University, 24-12 and then fell to tenth ranked Grand Canyon University, 9-29. Argos Knocked Out of National Duals
Cedar Falls, IA – The University of Great Falls wrestling team was knocked out early of the 2011 NWCA/Cliff Keen National Dual tournament on Saturday, suffering a close loss to Southern Oregon University, 18-22, in the consolation bracket. The fourth ranked and seeded squad won its first dual of the day defeating Missouri Baptist 34-6, but lost in the next round to national foe Missouri Valley, 25-9. More>

Havre, MT – It was not pretty but it was not a loss either for the University of Great Falls wrestling squad. Great Falls, MT– The University of Great Falls Head Wrestling Coach Caleb Schaeffer has announced the signing of Benny Watt of Bonners Ferry, ID. Watt becomes the first of Schaeffer’s 2011 class to sign a Letter of Intent with the Argos whose third place finish at nationals last year was the best in school history. More>

Argo Grapplers Take 3rd At Nationals
Oklahoma City, OK – The University of Great Falls wrestling team which has been ranked in the top six in the country all season long concluded its 2009-2010 campaign today by finishing third overall at the 53rd Annual NAIA Wrestling National Championships held at Abe Lemons Arena on the campus of Oklahoma City University. The third place team finish is the highest in the history of the program which saw the Argos place six All-Americans including freshman Myles Mazurkiewicz (Havre, MT) and junior Byron Kuylen (Sidney, MT) who came in as runners-up at 133 pounds and 149 pounds, respectively.
