Lady Argos Hold on in Cal Pac/Frontier Qualifying Tournament
Rocklin, Calif. – The University of Great Falls softball team outlasted Holy Names University today 14-12 in an elimination game of the California Pacific/Frontier Conference Qualifying Tournament. Great Falls dropped its first game of the tournament earlier to Simpson University 7-0. The tournament is set up in a double-elimination format. More>

Great Falls Softball Splits with Eastern Oregon
La Grande, Ore. – The University of Great Falls softball team travelled 11 hours to play Eastern Oregon University in twinbill action today and split with the host Mountaineers, 1-5 and 4-1. The Lady Argos move to 14-12 overall with only two games left in the regular season. More>

Lady Argos Take Black Hills State Three Games to One
Spearfish, S.D. – The University of Great Falls softball team improved their season record to 13-11 after travelling to take on the Yellowjackets of Black Hills State University on Saturday and Sunday. The Lady Argos swept the Jackets on day one, winning both games 6-3. The two teams would split on Sunday as Great Falls fell 4-8 in game one and then came back to win the second of the double-header, 13-5. More>

UGF Softball Leaves Arizona at .500
Tucson, Ariz. – The University of Great Falls softball team won their last four games at the Tucson Invitational to improve their record to 10-10 on the season. Starting out 3-7 in the first four days of the invite, the Lady Argos got the bats going and went 4-0 in the last two days. More>

Lady Argos Split First Day of Tucson Play
Tucson, Ariz. – After starting the season out 3-3 against the College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University, the University of Great Falls softball team travelled to Arizona to get 14 games in six days. Opening with Robert Morris University (Ill.) yesterday, the Lady Argos dropped their first game, 4-10. Bouncing back in the second game against Trinity International University, Great Falls rallied in the seventh inning with three runs to win 4-2. More>

Lady Argos' Season Ends At Cal Pac Qualifier
Redding, CA – The dream of playing in the NAIA National Tournament ended today for the University of Great Falls softball team who dropped consecutive games to Simpson University and Holy Names University at the California Pacific Conference NAIA Qualifying Tournament. The top-seeded Red Hawks of Simpson defied the odds as they rallied from a six-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to top the Lady Argos in the day’s first game, scoring an improbable 8-7 victory. Holy Names then eliminated UGF from the double elimination tournament in game two as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead against the apparently shell-shocked Lady Argos, en route to a 6-3 win. The Lady Argos close out their season at 16-15 overall, giving the Lady Argos and fourth-year head coach Gary Ehnes the program’s first-ever winning season. More>
Great Falls, MT – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the recipients of the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award for this year’s spring sports. The University of Great Falls had nine student-athletes named to this honor for men’s and women’s track and field and softball. The UGF softball squad had five honorees while men’s and women’s track and field each had two, respectively. More>
