Jones & Harris Represent UGF On All-Frontier Teams

Whitefish, MT – Sophomore basketball players L.J. Jones (Anaheim, CA) and Kevin Harris (Houston, TX) were honored today as they were selected to the 2009-2010 All-Frontier Conference Second Team as announced by conference commissioner Kent Paulson. The All-Conference Team is determined by a vote from the league’s eight head coaches. Argos' Season Ends At Westminster

Salt Lake City, UT – The University of Great Falls men’s basketball team saw its 2009-2010 season come to an end Tuesday as they dropped a 78-55 decision to #1-seeded Westminster College in the opening round of the Frontier Conference Tournament at Behnken Fieldhouse. The Griffins, ranked #4 in the latest NAIA national poll, improved to 24-5 on the season by winning their 11th straight game. The Argos fall to 7-22 and are still searching for two milestones: the program’s first win in the Frontier Conference Tournament and the program’s first win over Westminster who moved to 25-0 all-time against UGF. Argos Sweep Season Series Vs. Defending National Champs

Great Falls, MT – Just one day removed from a lackluster effort vs. Carroll College, the University of Great Falls men’s basketball team regrouped and made a little history in the process, sweeping the season series against the Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears with an incredible 92-88 win in overtime.  With the win, the Argos improve to 7-21 on the season and 3-11 in Frontier Conference play.  Rocky, the defending national champions, fall to 6-8 in conference, 11-18 overall. Carroll Takes It To Argo Hoopers

Great Falls, MT On the strength of a 41-22 second half, the Carroll College Saints scored an 80-52 win, sweeping the season series with the University of Great Falls Argonauts for the tenth consecutive season.  In the process, the Saints move to 6-7 in conference (13-14 overall) to keep pace with the Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears in their battle for a fourth-place conference finish as the Bears won at MSU-Northern 70-58 tonight.  The Argos, meanwhile, fall to 6-21, 2-11. Argo Men Narrowly Miss Pulling Upset

Dillon, MT – The University of Montana Bulldogs held off a late rally from the underdog University of Great Falls Argos on Saturday night and came away with a 71-68 win, thwarting the Argos’ upset bid. The Bulldogs improved to 9-4 in Frontier Conference play (21-8 overall) and moved one-half game ahead of Montana State-Northern (20-8, 8-4) for second place in the conference with one week remaining in the regular season. The Argos fought valiantly throughout the contest but dropped to 6-20, 2-10.
