SALT LAKE CITY, UT – April 21, 2009 – The University of Great Falls men’s and women’s golf teams finished up their second spring golf tournament hosted by Westminster College on Tuesday afternoon at the Wingpointe Golf Course in Salt Lake City, UT.
The Argo women shot a 54-hole total of 1517 and finished in sixth place at the eight team tournament. Freshman Stephanie Hansen (FR, Townsend, MT) led the Argo women with a 353 and and overall 34th place finish. Both Megan Delaurentis (SR, Helena, MT) and Leslie Saunders (SO, Bozeman, MT) finished with a 371 and a 376, respectively followed by Sami Pack (JR, Sheridan, MT) with a 417.
On the men's side, Josh Wittman (SO, Lewiston, ID) finished the tournament in the top 20 with a 54-hole total of 234 as he was tied for 18th place with Montana Tech's Curtis Blake. After firing a 167 after the first day on Monday, Hunter Schneider (FR, Cody, WY) finished with a 243 while Lance Wilson (SR, Livingston, MT) finished two strokes ahead of teammate Kurtis Burrall (FR, Great Falls, MT) with a 272. The Argos finished with a total of 1023.
The Lewis-Clark State College women defeated Rocky Mountain College by 9 strokes (978-969) for the women's title while the Rocky Mountain College men won the men's title by 1 stroke over the Lewis-Clark State men (878-877). Host Westminster College men's and women's golf teams placed fifth overall.
The Argo men's and women's teams gear up to host the final tournament of the spring season at the UGF Invitational that will take place on April 27-28th at the Marias Valley Golf and Country Club in Shelby, MT. The combined team scores from each tournament will determine the overall Frontier Conference champion for both the men and women after next week's action.

LEWISTON, ID – April 14, 2009 – The University of Great Falls men’s and women’s golf teams opened up their 2009 spring portion of their season at the Lewis-Clark State Invitational golf tournament in Lewiston, Idaho on Monday.
The University of Great Falls women’s golf team finished sixth out of eight teams at the tournament with a score of 1476. Stephanie Hansen (FR, Townsend, MT) led the Argo women with a final score of 318 after firing a 203 during the first day on Monday while Megan Delaurentis (SR, Helena, MT) shot a 368 followed by Sami Pack (JR, Sheridan, MT) with a two-day total of 375 followed by Leslie Saunders (SO, Bozeman, MT).
Meanwhile, the Argo men finished with a score of 1065. Josh Wittman (SO, Lewiston, ID) finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 249 followed by teammate Lance Wilson (SR, Livingston, MT) who finished 12 strokes behind Wittman with a 261. Wilson edged Great Falls' Hunter Schneider (FR, Cody, WY) by one point. Kurtis Burrall (FR, Great Falls, MT) rounded out the men's team with a 293.
The Lewis-Clark State College men's and Rocky Mountain College women's teams took home team titles at the Idaho tournament. The Warrior men edged Rocky Mountain College by one point (919-918) and the Rocky women's team defeated host Lewis-Clark State by five strokes (998-993).
The conference tournament is comprised of six 54-hole golf tournaments with three each held in the fall and the spring. The combined team scores from each tournament are added together to determine the overall champion. The Argos will be in Salt Lake City, Utah next week for the Westminster Invitational before coming home the following week to host the UGF Invitational.

BILLINGS, MT – September 29, 2008 – The University of Great Falls men’s and women’s golf teams wrapped up the fall season on Monday with a tournament hosted by Rocky Mountain College at the Peter Yegan Golf Club in Billings. There were 127 golfers including 11 men’s teams and 10 on the women’s side.
The University of Great Falls women’s golf team finished ninth at the tournament with a score of 1245. Kirstin Thompson (JR, Cheney, WA) paced the Argo women with a 276 followed 11 strokes behind by Stephanie Hansen (FR, Townsend, MT) with Megan Delaurentis (SR, Helena, MT) and Sami Pack (JR, Sheridan, MT) rounding out the women’s team.
Meanwhile, the Argo men finished with a score of 950. Sean Gilligan (FR, Sunburst, MT) defeated teammate Hunter Schneider (FR, Cody, WY) by one stroke followed by Kurtis Burrall (FR, Great Falls, MT) with a 242 and Lance Wilson (SR, Livingston, MT) three strokes behind Burrall at 245.
The Rocky women took the team title while Lewis-Clark State and MSU-Billings tied for the men’s honors at the Rocky Invitational.

HELENA, MT – September 23, 2008 – The golf teams at the University of Great Falls competed at the two-day Carroll College Invitational golf tournament that wrapped up on Tuesday at the Green Meadow Country Club in Helena.
The University of Great Falls women’s golf team finished seventh out of the eight team tournament with a score of 1400. Kirstin Thompson (JR, Cheney, WA) shot a team leading 308 for Great Falls followed by Stephanie Hansen (FR, Townsend, MT) with a 324 rounded out by Sami Pack (JR, Sheridan, MT) and Megan DeLaurentis (SR, Helena, MT).
Meanwhile, the Argo men finished ahead of Montana Western for eighth place out of nine with a team score of 967. Sean Gilligan (FR, Sunburst, MT) led Great Falls with a 232 followed eight strokes ahead of Hunter Schneider (FR, Cody, WY) with Lance Wilson (SR, Livingston, MT), Josh Wittman (SO, Lewiston, ID) and Jeff LePard (SO, Great Falls, MT) rounding out the Argo men’s team.
The Rocky women and the Lewis-Clark State men took top team honors.

BUTTE, MT – September 15, 2008 – The University of Great Falls men’s and women’s golf teams opened up their 2008 season at the two-day golf tournament at Fairmont Hot Springs hosted by Montana Tech. The first 36 holes were played Sunday followed on Monday by the final 18.
The University of Great Falls women’s golf team placed eighth out of the nine team tournament with a team score of 1413. Kirstin Thompson (JR, Cheney, WA) led her team with score of 285 followed by Stephanie Hansen (FR, Townsend, MT) with a 344 rounded out by Megan Delaurentis (SR, Helena, MT) and Sami Pack (JR, Sheridan, MT).
The Great Falls men also finished eighth as a team with 974. Sean Gilligan (FR, Sunburst, MT) led the Argos with a 232 followed by Hunter Schneider (FR, Cody, WY) with a 242. Rounding out the team was Josh Wittman (SO, Lewiston, ID), Kurtis Burrall (FR, Great Falls, MT) and Jeff LePard (SO, Great Falls, MT).
The Rocky women and the Montana Tech men each placed first in the first of the six conference golf tournaments this season.
