‘40’s
Josephine (Brooker) Arthur ’48, is the past President and a frequent traveler with the Friendship Force of Great Falls. She is also an honorary member of the Great Falls Advertising Federation.

 

Loretta M. Day, '49, was inducted into the High Plains Heritage Center-Cowboy and Cowgirl Hall of Fame.



‘50’s

Gail Remington Dickson, Beverly Erdman Medved, Nancy Gibbons Stulc, Dorothy Schweitzer Kern, Alice Charbonneau Smith, and Judy Burbridge Ludtke , all of whom received their elementary education diplomas in 1956, celebrated 52 years of friendship at a reunion in Lewistown. This was the tenth reunion they have held since their first teachers’ convention in Great Falls. Nancy Stulc made the arrangements for the reunion which included a ride and dinner on the Charlie Russell Chew-choo, attending the Chokecherry Festival in Lewistown, and the “What-the-Hay?” displays and craft show at Utica. ‘60’s
Wadean E. Willis, ’61, passed away in Topeka, Kansas on April 8th. She earned a teaching degree from CGF while her husband, Reuben Willis, was stationed at Malmstrom AFB. Wadean taught English in Kansas and in Department of Defense schools overseas before retiring eighteen years ago.

 


‘70’s
Mark S. Gray, ’74, (B.A. English/Secondary Education) Gray was recently named a Distinguished Educator by the Helena Education Foundation. Gray is an English teacher at Capital High School in Helena, Montana. He reports that his daughter, Catherine Gray, has been named an Argo Scholar Award winner. Catherine, a 2009 graduate of Seton Home Study School of Virginia, is working toward a major in English and a minor in Art at UGF.

 

Father William 'Bill' Nelson, '74, passed away February 15, 2010. Father Bill's sister, Joan, said, "Bill was a diocesan priest for the Diocese of Pueblo in Colorado for 28 years. He worked throughout southern Colorado in numerous parishes. He was a beautiful person and a wonderful priest who will be missed by the numerous individuals and families he helped throughout his life. Bill passed away from melanoma and he surrendered to his God's wishes with grace and bravery."

 

Julie Rosenberg, '75 (B.S. Physical Education), living in south Florida, oldest daughter to marry may 2011. working as an accountant for the Health Care District of Palm beach County.

 

John Higgins, '77 (M.S.W.), 1971 BA Sociology, CGF1977 MSW, U of Lousville, KY"Taking a break" after 30 years as Child Abuse social worker in Tucson, AZ.



‘80’s
Mandy Strelow Burch, ’81, the National Sales Manager for Student Banking at US Bank Corp. has retired. She now resides in California.

 

Don Morton, '89 (B.S. Computer Science), Morton is a Research Professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Arctic Region Supercomputing Center

 

Michelle Rickard, '81 (B.S.), Academic Programs Manager, Pathology Residency/Fellowship Program, University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Selected 2011 ACGME Program Coordinator Excellence Award. This is a national award from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education recognizing my positive impact on managing my 11 training programs. I am the first manager from the University of Washington and the first pathology manager. It's like getting the academy award for best director for comedy/drama.

 


‘90’s
Shawn Narancich, ’95, was hired as the Vice President of Research for Ferguson Wellman Capital Management in Portland, Oregon.

Stacey Eve, ’96, Vice President for Finance and Human Resources at the University of Great Falls, has been certified as a professional in human resources from the Human Resource Certification Institute. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Great Falls, Montana.


Lt. Col. Michael Hough, ’96, assumed command of the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado. Colonel Hough’s awards include a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, an Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, a Joint Service Commendation Medal and an Air Force Commendation Medal.

 

Bernard Newby, '94, (Computer Information Systems) He currently teaches Computer Repair in the Lansing School District, Lansing MI. Newby has been teaching high school since 1995. He earned a teaching degree from Wayne State University in 1997. Newby also earned a Master degree in Special Eduation from Grand Canyon University in 2007.

 


‘00’s


Brittany Halmes, ’04, and Nick Budeski were married on June 7th, 2008 in Belt, Montana. Brittany is the Assistant Registrar at the University of Great Falls and Nick is an Assistant Wresting Coach at the University of Great Falls.
