The University of Great Falls received a $50,000 donation from Great Falls-based, employee-owned Pacific Steel & Recycling that will be applied to the new faculty offices.
In 2007, the University of Great Falls completed construction of eighteen new faculty offices in the library. The old faculty offices were converted to dormitory space for freshman.
President McAllister said “Putting faculty offices in the library has changed the university’s dynamics, with students growing closer to faculty members as they interact while studying and chatting in the library. We’re thrilled that the employees of Pacific Steel & Recycling have included us in their generosity.”
Ray Wahlert, President and CEO of Pacific Steel & Recycling, is an active member on the Board of Trustees and is Chairman of the Academic and Faculty Affairs Committee at the University of Great Falls. He is a great friend and supporter of our University community.
Two University of Great Falls alumni, Bob Short and Diane McCloskey, are employed at Pacific Steel & Recycling.
A dedication ceremony for the new faculty offices is planned for early October and our two alumni will be present for the occasion.
