graduation 2012

142 University of Great Falls Students Will Join the University of Great Falls Family of Alumni
Thursday, May 10, 2012

The University of Great Falls is set to have 142 students walk down the graduation aisle this Saturday, an increase of over fifty students from the previous year. The entire class of 2012, comprised of students graduating in December 2011, May 2012 and August 2012, is 250 students. Contributing to the increase in this year’s graduation numbers is the growth of several of the University’s top majors, including Nursing, Education, Psychology and Criminal Justice. According to the University’s President, Dr. Eugene McAllister, “Commencement is always such a joyous time at the University of Great Falls. The decision for a student to attend our University is often a family decision; it is also a family financial commitment. No student walks across that stage alone.”

With graduation just days away, students are looking at the bittersweet realities graduation often brings, and pondering what they will be taking away with them. According to graduating senior Hayley Harned “I came to the University of Great Falls a very shy person with no real motivation or sense of priority. With the University being such a small school, I got individual attention and was able to really grow as a person. The University has become my home away from home. I’m leaving for graduate school in New York, but the University of Great Falls and the people here will be my forever family.”
